From Voxalot FAQ
To make calls to fixed line phones and mobiles, you will need to sign up with a Voice Service Provider and add them to your Voxalot account.
To add a Voice Service Provider:
1. Log-in to your Voxalot account using your member-id and password
2. Click on the Voice Service Provider option on the right hand side menu. This will display the Voice Service Provider List. The list will be empty if this is the first Voice Service Provider you are adding.
3. Click on the Add button and the Voice Service Provider form will be displayed.
4. Fill in the form and click save (fields marked with an asterisk are required)
- Provider Name(*): Enter the name of the voice service provider.
- Username(*): Enter the user name assigned to you by the voice service provider. This is usually a number.
- Password(*): Enter the password you created or were assigned by the voice service provider
- Confirm password(*): Re-enter the password as entered above
- Codecs: Normally, you can leave this as it is. Codecs must be separated with a semi-colon (;)
- Host(*): Enter the host as specified by the voice service provider. This would have been provided to you in the confirmation email you would have received when you signed up with a Voice Service Provider.
- Port(*): leave this as 5060 - most providers support this port, if they don't, check for instructions in the confirmation email sent by the provider.
- Active(*): Set to Yes. You can temporarily deactivate this provider in Voxalot by setting this value to No.
- SIP Register(*): Leave this as no as it is only required if you want to give out the number assigned by the provider for others to call you, or if you want to configure a Direct Dial In Number. This requires VoxPremium membership. If the Registration is successful you will see Status "Registered" in the Voice Service Provider List for this Voice Service Provider. If you see Status "Auth Sent" or "Auth Failed" it means that there is an error in the credentials (username and password) you have provided.
- Optimize Audio Path: Setting this to Yes means that your voice data stream will not be proxied by Voxalot.
Note: Before you change this value to Yes please read the HowTo: 6 Steps To Optimize Your Audio tutorial.

Codec Settings
The following are not required, but reccomended for better Voice Quality. As a rule of thumb change the default settings to one of these strings if you're having audio problems:

- alaw;ulaw;g726;g729;ilbc;gsm: enter this if you have greater than or equal to 256kbps uplink and live other than in N. America
- g729;ilbc;gsm;g726;ulaw;alaw: enter this if you have less than 256kbps uplink
